Academy for Women Entrepreneurs SA call for applications

The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) South Africa is calling for applications for its Dreambuilder programme, where women entrepreneurs will learn the fundamentals of business.

The programme is brought to South Africa by DreamGirls Academy, an implementing partner of the U.S. Embassy’s Academy of Women Entrepreneurs. AWE supports the White House-led Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) initiative, which is designed to empower at least 50 million women worldwide by 2025 to fulfill their economic potential, and in doing so, create conditions for increased stability, security, and prosperity for all.

Selected candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Aspiring full time female entrepreneur with a viable business idea or startup women entrepreneurs in the STEM, Commercial or Creative fields
  2. 21-35 years old
  3. South African citizen or legal resident
  4. Must be able to commit to the full program & attend workshops from August 2019 – May 2020 (twice a month, in the work week from 9am-1pm)
  5. Must live and be able to travel to the training venue In Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Bloemfontein or Durban (*the training venue in Cape Town will be in the American Corner at Central Library).

CLOSING DATE: 5pm Friday, 26 July 2019. Selected candidates will be notified on 5 August 2019.
